GARDÁÍ HAVE ARRESTED a 17-year-old girl and a man after seizing two kilos of heroin today with an estimated street value of €280,000.

Gardaí stopped and searched a car today in Dundrum, south Dublin.

One kilo of suspected heroin with an estimated street value of €140,000 was discovered.

A 32-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl who were in the car were arrested and taken to Blackrock garda station where they were detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

During a follow up search of a house at Ballyogan Green, Carrickmines another kilo of suspected heroin was seized also with an estimated street value of €140,000.

The teenager has since been released, with a file being prepared for the DPP, while the man has been charged.
